‘Culture First’ is the first edition of a new format dedicated to the emerging scene of collectible design and functional art. VAUST from Berlin and CØR from Paris have joined forces and developed this format to build bridges not only between art and design, but also between the two creative capitals of Paris and Berlin on a regular basis. Fostering this cultural axis as a catalyst for exchange and collaboration seems important to both studios. The curators have selected outstanding works by some of the most interesting artists and designers in the field, whom they regard as pioneers in the mutual understanding of the
emerging scene of collectible design and functional art. All the artists have different positions in the two cities. With this Franco-German connection, the idea is to create a format that connects the emerging collectible design scenes in both cities and to broaden their audiences on this culturally relevant axis. Cultural awareness is at the heart of this show, which aims to deepen appreciation and understanding of this vibrant and evolving movement. By showcasing the work of artists and designers who are pushing boundaries in both Paris and Berlin, the exhibition aims to foster an appreciation of the diverse cultural expressions and innovative approaches within the field of collectible design. In doing so, it not only celebrates the talent and creativity of individuals, but also encourages dialogue and the cross-pollination of ideas across geographical and cultural boundaries. Our aim is to raise cultural awareness of this important and young scene, to create a sense of beauty and to give a stage to the people who deserve it, the artists and designers.

The exhibition started in Berlin (25/05-16/05) and will be shown in Paris (24/06-06/06).
